Why Donald Trump Win ?

Like everyone who voted for Hillary Clinton, I was in shock on November 8th- 2016. I give it to the Trump Campaign and the RNC for running a great planned out strategy to win the Presidency. The very fact that the Republicans use voter repression in North Carolina, by eliminating 158 polling places in the African American Community was ethically not right but brilliant. They also calculated that most European Americans, with 30% Asian Americans,  30% non Mexican Latino, Other Americans % ? and 8% of the African American Community voted for Trump's Economics regardless of his other right wing agendas.
Like deporting 11 million undocumented immigrants, build a wall, over turn Obama care, over turn abortion rights, over turn LGBT rights, keep minimum wage as is,eliminate overtime, ban immigrants who come from terrorist nations ( Muslims ), return stop and frisk, ignore climate change and many more draconian right wing nationalist agendas ! Donald Trump gambled on peoples " LOVE OF MONEY " or should I say " Money Is There God " over human beings. Those who voted for Donald Trump also have to take responsibility for breaking up and destroying millions of peoples lives and families forever, hope yall can sleep at night. Also if yall don't see your pay checks and wealth rise from Donald Trump presidency, then the joke, scam and con is on you, THE BIGGEST SUCKERS !

Politics Is A Dirty Game !

A couple weeks ago, I reminded a Brother who is running for mayor in the near future, to watch out for " Opposition Research " ? He later posted that he is not going to run a traditional campaign, he is going to be himself. My unsolicited advice was to let him know that less is more, when it comes to social media postings. That what ever you say publicly will be used against you in your campaign ( Opposite Research ), he basically let it be known that he did not care, he is going to run it the way he wants too. My friendly advice was just to help him but maybe I offended him ? One thing I do know is if a person is serious about running for office, expect your past, secrets and any and all dirt will be exposed publicly. Once a politician's dirt is exposed, his or her life and families life will never be the same again ! I wish this Brother well in his pursuit of being a " Mayor ", I hope he takes it seriously, because once you start running ,make sure you always think about the people first because if not, then people will feel used for a publicity stunt !

My Theory of The Death Of Keith Lamont Scott ?

I am sitting in my car rolling a blunt, when I look to my left or right and see two suspicious " European American " men staring at me, ( This is the South ) ! I get scared and show them I have a gun, too let them know " I A'int The One." They leave and come back and now there are " Police " yelling and banging on my windows, they are so close I could have shot threw my window. I don't and do the right thing by leaving the gun in the car while exiting with my hands by my side. As I am slowly walking backwards, I am shot 4 times by a African American officer who is standing by my car door. The African American officer reaches in my car and takes out the gun. He is the the last man to appear in one of the videos released, mostly you see his legs but he is clearly seen holding a gun in his shadow. He then is clearly seen handing something to a fellow " Police " officer wearing a red shirt under his bullet proof vest, who then put's it on the ground ? The gun was falsely planted ! Also, why only release the shooter's name ( Officer
Vincent ) ? What are the names of the other 4 officers involved ?

To Dissent is An American Constitutional Right ( Colin Kapernick ) !

I think people easily forget that as Americans, we have the right to our opinions and beliefs ! That is why it shocked me in the year 2016 that some people showed there hatred for Colin Kapernick ? This is nothing
new in our American History, that to dissent is a political way of standing up for our beliefs. Muhammad Ali in his boxing prime in 1967 refused to be drafted, and paid a heavy price being banned from boxing for 3 and a half years ! Not only that, he was looking at 5 year federal prison sentence for his beliefs and the Supreme Court reversed his conviction, based on his American Constitutional rights ! There are countless more Americans who have lost lives, money, careers and family for there Constitutional rights ! When I hear people say that Colin Kapernick should be punished for using his rights, I remind them that Colin Kapernick is an American and not a " Slave " !

What Makes An African American ?

The other day I was thinking about what makes us who we are ? Yes we are descendants of African King and Queens sold in to slavery by our own people then brought to Jamestown, Virginia in 1619! Yes its also true that we were stripped of our names, religion ( Islam ) and language, but what I am talking about is our unique way on how we see our selves ? I found out that many of our African Brothers and Sisters from other countries look at us as spoiled people who does not take advantage of opportunities we have in America ? And truly, I believe in some ways they are right but I remind those Brothers and Sisters, that if it was not for us, they also would not be able to have those rights. Since 1619 to 1865 us slaves contribute a minimum of 22 Trillion dollars of free labor to our country and if we ever got paid back, we would be the richest so call minority community in America ! My point is that we have come a long way and we have a long way to go, so let's celebrate our collective achievements instead of focusing on what is still wrong !  We have many problems still but " Keep Your Head Up " because know one can judge us collectively, until they lived our " History " !

Compliance To Police and Police Accountability ?

As a 49 year old Black Man, my experience dealing with Police are mixed because I was taught to always comply with them out of respect, not because I feared for my life. Most of my inter actions with them have been peaceful but there are several times I have run in conflict with them ! After 9-11, I was jumped by four under cover Police men because of my Islamic last name in a southern state . I believed they would of killed me if it was not for GOD sending this old man out of his house, turning on his house spot lights. I defended my self and broke a officer jaw in the process according to them, but they jumped in there white unmarked and sped off ! I had to leave this Southern state for fear of my life, but even though this happened to me I never felt hatred for Police in my heart, I live with my 5 fractures. I also remember being 16 years old riding through a " European American " neighborhood at night with other Black friends as my self, being pulled over IDeed and asked real nasty by a drunk cop, " Why are you " NIGGERS " in this neighborhood ? I felt fear in my heart but he let us go ! And also I had a business conflict with a major casino mogul out here in Las Vegas in 2002 and he had people follow me and a under cover cop pulled up to me and pointed his fingers like a gun to the side of his head and pulled an imaginary trigger ! Needless to say, I reported this incident to a US ATTORNEY and ever since then I never had a problem with Police again ? MY point is, if bad Police are never convicted and sent to prison for there abuse and deadly force, then nothing will change with out a " Police Man " being made as an " Example " !

The New Normal ? - Police Keep Killing Blacks and Blacks Now Kill Police ?

When I heard about the Dallas Policemen getting wounded and killed, I must admit I was not broken hearted because of the history of police killing us " Blacks " ! But, I felt ashamed that I felt that way because although I know it was wrong, I felt some justice as a Black Man. When I heard that the shooter wanted to kill Whites, I was devastated because I was raised to love all people and I do ! I thought about all my White Brothers and Sisters I known all my life and felt sick to my stomach, thinking what if it would of been one of my beloved " Friends " ? As I watch news cable shows and when a guest say's, Blacks are happy that those " Policemen " are dead, I must admit after talking to some Brothers and Sisters, there are some who are okay with you kill one of us we kill several of you ! Is this the  " New  " Black Justice " ? I hate to say it may be until a policemen is convicted of murder and sent to prison for killing a Black Man ! If there is no " Police " made as an example, then a police man can shoot and kill a Black Man and know he can get a way with it, by just saying " I FEARED FOR MY LIFE " ? Now we all know most Police are good, but for those who put on a uniform and say you know, I can Shoot a " Black " today and nothing will happen to me ? That kind of discretion of just saying " I FEARED FOR MY LIFE " should not be part of there " Protocol " any more, if not then I hate to say it but nothing will change, with some police killing us " Blacks " and us " Blacks " Killing police ! We as a country can do better then that, let our love for our humanity bring us together and past this !

The Politics of Gun's ?

You know people, it amazes me that our congress can not pass any gun legislation at all ? No law or new law will stop all gun violence but really to do nothing at all ? The Republicans are scared to lose there financial interest and backing from the very powerful NRA and gun manufactures ! And believe me there is plenty of so called " Blue Dog " Democrats who feel the same way. The Republicans say people are the problem and not assault rifles ( AR-15 ) ? I mean is it really to much to ask our congress to pass at least back ground checks at gun shows and no fly, no buy ? Also why not let ( Smart Gun's ) come into the market for further safety from gun thefts and accident shootings of children in there own homes ! All this talk about the government wants to take your guns is all BS, and is a scare tactic to people who are all ready paranoid of the government. I am Pro-Gun but not for assault rifles that can kill in a matter of seconds, I mean why not reinstate the assault gun ban that President George W. Bush let lapse, do you think they feel any responsibility of these mass shootings, I am sure they don't ! What amazes me is that both political parties are more interested in holding there seats and power then us American people and its " SAD " !
Us Americans and our kids deserve better then that !

The Movie of " Roots " ?

On this Memorial Day, Lifetime will be showing the remake of Alex Haley's " Roots " ? I remember when I first watched " Roots ", I am sure I was only about 7 or 9 years old but I was glued to the television. My Parents thought I was sleeping in my room but I was watching it sitting on my bunk bed and peering through the crack of my door. I could not hear the television but I sat there and watched and I was crying because I was watching the brutality going on with the people who looked liked me ! I may not understood the whole story then but my heart surely was in pain. As I got older a feeling of shame came over me every time in " History "
class when they talked about slavery and the civil war, because usually I was the only " Black " in class and I could feel eyes watching me, waiting to see if i have a emotional reaction which I did not ! I sat there stoned faced heart hurt because at that particular time, I felt like less then a human, a second class citizen and human being. I remember hatred building in my heart of not " European Americans " but being taught in school that all us African Americans were nothing more then that ! I was so wrong, because when I started to learn about " Black History, " and I did not have a " Black History " Class. but I read every book I could about us " African Americans " at Libraries ! James Baldwin, Elaine Brown, Fredrick Douglas, Eldrige Cleaver, Malcom X, George Jackson, Martin Luther King, Huey Newton, Assata Shakur, Elijah Muhammad ( Message To The BlackMan ) and so many more great books about " Knowledge Of Self " It opened up a new world on who I and my people really are, I learned to look at my self different and carry my self with more respect. And now when I watch " Roots " I tear up because of the love in my heart for my ancestors sacrifice for my " Freedom " ! Roots is really about a story about Kings and Queens sold in to slavery by there own, but by our God's grace had touched the hearts of not only the " Harriet Tubman's but also of " Good " European Americans " who also shed there blood for our " Freedom " ( Civil War ) ! Like Brother Malcom X said " We Are More Then Black, We Are African American Royalty " so I will continue to smile, keep my head raised, and teach our kids true identity is one of " Kings " and " Queens  " !

The Power of Our Tongues ?

Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. ( James 1-19: 20 ) ! Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. ( James 1: 26 ) ! The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one's life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. ( James 3:6 ) ! With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God's likeness. Out
of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. ( James 3- 9:10 ) !

The Entertainment Industry Before the Internet & Technology ?

As I write this as a 30 year vet in this industry, I must say it was easier to do business before the explosion of technology. I mean before the internet business was more personal more special to me because you dealt with people face to face. You had business lunches, brunches and networking at your local bar or cafe and people dressed up and went out of there way to see each other ! Not anymore and although email, video chat and the countless content and products to choose from are great its also harder for a new product to break in a market or create a market for them selves. I remember calling editors, journalist and making my pitch for some press and they would personally call you back in 48 hours and said yes or no ? Now days call backs are rare and business ethics is out the window and anybody can run a business using technology.
As I spend everyday for the last 6 years running my business online, I get frustrated on how hard it is to make a sale if any and I remember when I sold my products on street corners ? In those days all you need was a make shift table, products, and a street corner and you were in business. Here in Las Vegas if you do that, law enforcement will ask you for your business permit and business licence and if you don't have it, they confiscate your products ! I mean if you are having a garage sell on the street corner they won't bother you, but your own manufactured products ? For Get About It !  Some days I yearn for the good ole days before the internet when everybody could not just have a business, when you actually had to put products on consignment and send your products to distributors hoping for a National purchase order ! I am caught between the old and new and I know I am not the only business person who feels that !

Politics Today ?

I am really baffled how Donald Trump could be the Republican nominee ? I personally do not have anything against Mr. Trump, but I am disturbed that the establishment has never called Donald out on him calling Mexican immigrants rapist and his plan to deport 11 million immigrants ! A lot of Americans believe if we deport them, our wages will go up and more jobs will be available for us Americans ? I highly doubt that because I don't see a lot of European Americans or African Americans complaining about not being able to work on a roof when its 113 degrees out here in Las Vegas ! Personally I don't see us Americans in the fields picking vegetables or fruit for minimum wage or $15.00 hour in which Bernie Sanders proposes but we all know that would never happen. Bernie Sanders promises a college free tuition but we both know that we never happened in " Congress " ! My point is the reality is, Donald Trump has a big following but he could never be " President " with out the Latino, African American or Women vote ! And quite frankly I believe the Republican establishment will never get behind Donald Trump and will deny him the nomination because they know for a fact he could never beat Hillary Clinton. I am convinced that they would rather lose with out Donald Trump because they don't want the face of Donald Trump's supporters to be the Republican Parties future ! If they were smart the establishment should have backed Marco Rubio, Nikki Haley and Tim Scott as the new Republican Parties future as an all conclusive party no longer stereotyped as for European Men only ! The Republican party had a chance in 2008 after losing to President Barack Obama to learn that it was time to include Hispanic, African American, LGBT and all walks of life as parties future ! They did not and now they are paying the price that Donald Trump and his followers will now be the new " Republican Party " ?

I Am A Writer !

I am a human being who is " Blessed " to be gifted as a " Writer. " I say this because as a published author of color, there is those in this publishing industry think because I am African American, I am only able to write about is African American experiences, with a book cover screaming hey I am African American ( Picture or Pictures ) ! The very fact my book " The Godbrother " cover has a European American was my idea because the fact is us Black Men can only sell books if we are very famous or famously  " Dead " ! It was not Tate Publishing idea it was my own having a European American on the cover is to sell books period. It was just business nothing personal and like I said, I am a human being first and then a " Writer ". The truth is my book is selling because of the cover and my writing, can not be mad at that !

I Thank Those Who Died For Me ( Civil Rights and Civil War Struggle ) !

As I sit here in my kitchen working on my computer, I think about all the people who died for me in the civil  rights and  civil war struggle ! Great people of all skin colors died for my freedom, but we must not forget that it has only been since 1964 that us African Americans were allowed to vote ! It really has not been that long in retrospect and we have a long way to go, but Thank God we are here today. I tried to imagine being in the 1950's living in the so called separate but equal America ? Seeing signs that say for " Whites or Colored Only " ? Being regulated to back of buses, businesses, eating establishments or side of town to live ? As a Man I would have to swallow my " Pride " everyday while being called " Boy " and " Nigger " so casually that I would start to think that was my name while trying to hold on some servant job that paid very little. Everyday feeling less of a " Man " because I make so little money while my " Wife " works and deals with sexual harassment from her employer and " God " forbid what she really has to endure to keep a job ?
Feeling like my life is in danger every time a policeman or a car full of white youths drive by yelling " Nigger "go back to " Africa " ! In the early to mid 80's, I did feel  the fear of being called a " Nigger " while a car passes by but thank " God " no one stop to get out or I might not be here ? While we have a long way to go its a shame that our African American youth are not taught in our homes and schools properly the importance of those who died for there freedoms, because I believe if they had, they would have more respect for themselves and others and we collectively would be calling our selves Brothers and Sisters instead of " Niggas " and " Bitches " !

Today is A New Day, New Year 2016 !

As I sit here and reflect on 2015, its been a very trying year for me and I am sure a lot of people ! The beginning of last year started out like gangbusters with a new place to live and a book published ( The Godbrother ) my Autobiography June-9-2015 ! I was so exited putting together my book tour and promotional campaign, I had big business plans for about 30 business associates ! Then everything change June-14th- 2015 when my health relapse from a brain injury I suffered on September 18-2014 ! I had to cancel all my business plans and book tour for 2016, devastated that I had to call 30 people and let them know that our plans were cancelled, I lost confidence in myself as my health declined ! The next 2 1/2 months were spent in and out of hospitals as I battled my illness but I never lost my faith bit I was very hurt that all my plans had to be postponed until further notice ? I think most of my pain was from feeling I let down everybody who was depending on me to come through ! On September -1- 2015, I started back my daily routine as I was recuperating  from my brain injury relapse and by October- 1- 2015 I was back to my old self and feeling 100% better, and matter of fact I lost 19 lbs down to 171lbs when I was sick and now I am healthy again at 211 lbs,Thank my Lord ! My whole point of writing this is to say, sometimes when we have plans that don't work out or prolonged, you must keep the " Faith " that our Lord has something better for us or on his appointed time ! I thank my " Lord " for healing me and healing me on his appointed time.
